JLA in Partnership with Yale at COP28

Jacob’s Ladder Africa in partnership with Yale International Leadership Center co-hosted a Side Event at COP28 on Friday 1st December 2023. The session was titled ‘Human Capital Strategies for Africa: Can Green Jobs Tackle Unemployment in Africa?’

The session brought together like-minded individuals and organisations seeking to tackle the challenge of youth unemployment in Africa by leveraging climate strategies for a greener continent by exploring the transformative potential of green jobs. Bilha Ndirangu – CEO, Great Carbon Valley moderated a panel which featured Sellah Bogonko – Co-Founder and CEO, Jacob’s Ladder Africa, Lai Yahaya, a Lawyer, Political Economist and Senior Policy Advisor, Sarah McNeilly – Senior Advisor Three Cairns Group, and Friedel Sehlleier- the Project Manager Climate at Kuehne Foundation, who shared insightful perspectives on the power of green jobs in addressing unemployment and promoting economic growth in Africa.
